Dipa Karmarkar - Golden Girl of Tripura
Dipa Karmakar, an artistic gymnast was born on 9th August 1993 in Agartala, Tripura, India. She began her schooling in Abhoynagar Nazrul Smriti Vidyalaya, Agartala and honing gymnastics at the age of 6. Since then she is taking coaching from Bisweshwar Nandi. She is also known as Golden Girl of Tripura. Dipa was born with level-feet, an unwanted physical characteristic in an athlete since it influences their hops and landings. Through broad preparing, she could build up a curve in her foot. Since she prepared in Tripura, her preparation grounds would once in a while get flooded.
She won the Junior National Championships in 2007 out of the blue.
